Nam Van Sound Waves . “CDSJ6 Choral and Vocal Recital” – 2024.06.08

The Rui Cunha Foundation presents on Saturday, June 8th at 5:00 pm, the “CDSJ6 Choral and Vocal Recital”, integrated in the series of musical concerts Nam Van Sound Waves, co-organized by the Macau Vocal Association.

The St. Joseph Parish Secondary School 6 Choir (CDSJ6 – Colégio Diocesano de São José 6) will participate again in the Bel Canto Saturdays, under the baton of Maestro Mars Lei, performing a selection of songs by composers Andy Beck, Victor C. Johnson, Yu-Yao Lim, Lai Kuong Iek and Yukihiro Nakazato, in English, Chinese and Japanese, accompanied on piano by Coris Cheong.

The program will later feature a Bel Canto performance with soprano Cheong Pou Ian, accompanied by pianist Choi Hao Leong, who will present an aria from “The Marriage of Figaro” by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, as well as the set of six ariettas (Sei Ariette) by composer Vincenzo Bellini.

Cheong Pou Ian obtained the ABRSM Vocal Certificate Level 8 in 2021. She then graduated in Music Education from Macau Polytechnic University in 2022, specializing in Vocal Music, and performed a solo graduation concert in the same year. The soprano is currently a music educator in Macau.
