Macao Association of Parents of the Mentally Handicapped is a None-government Organization in Macao. It established by the parents of the mentally handicapped persons in 1991. The association is still struggling for the rights and welfare of the mentally handicapped persons, and trying to eliminate discrimination and prejudice to the mentally handicapped.
Disorders that related to mentally handicapped includes Autism, Down’s syndrome, and Hypoevolutism. Though the patients may not be good at calculation or speaking, some of them have the gift of art like painting, dancing & singing. They have a unique vision about the world, their works are special. We hope to show their talents of painting through this exhibition. It’s a precious opportunity to hold an art exhibition by the mentally handicapped.
