POSTER_jazz_FBThe Rui Cunha Foundation presents on Saturday, March 2nd at 9:00pm, the popular monthly concert “Saturday Night Jazz”, in this first edition of 2024 with “Eva Tana & Friends + Macau Jazz Orchestra”, one of the most active local Jazz performers, who will join the resident musicians of the Macau Jazz Promotion Association (MJPA) on the Gallery stage.

Eva Tana is a jazz singer born and raised in Macau, specialized in Brazilian music and Bossa Nova, who also plays acoustic guitar and composes original songs, with a few albums recorded and commercially available. She studied music in Portugal and is good friends with MJPA, with whom she frequently plays at regional concerts and festivals.

The artist performed at Fundação Rui Cunha in April 2021, at the “Saturday Night Jazz” session celebrating the 9th Anniversary of FRC. On the coming concert she will present some originals, popular Brazilian sounds and other favorite jazz themes, with the participation of MJPA members.

The Macau Jazz Orchestra (MJO) is the other guest of honor at this concert, now newly reestablished under the direction of Master of Jazz Music and saxophonist Gregory Wong. The MJO exists since 2018 and gathers local musicians who love jazz and regularly perform at Summer and Christmas concerts throughout the territory. They form an integral part of the Macau Jazz Week event, annually produced and held by the MJPA.

The Macau Jazz Promotion Association (MJPA), co-organizer of Saturday Night Jazz with Rui Cunha Foundation since 2014, is a non-profit local arts association, created in 2010. The aim of MJPA is to promote jazz music to Macau’s audiences and to provide opportunities for local musicians, thus bringing out the multicultural characteristic of the territory.

Admission is free.
