The“BEL CANTO” Sandra Poon Piano Students Recital , organized by the Rui Cunha Foundation and the Macau Vocal Association, co-organzied by the Macau Greater Bay Area Music & Art Association, will be hold on Saturday, Dec 14th 2024 at 5:00 pm in the FRC Gallery.
Three Music Performance students from the Beijing Normal University – Hong Kong Baptist University United International College, under the guidance of renowned local pianist Sandra Poon, who is co-organizing the event.
The early evening program will last around 1 hour and will include piano solos by Johannes Sebestian Bach, Ludwig van Beethoven and Carl Czerny. Audience will also listen to work by Venezuelan modern composer Miguel Astor. The performance will be played by young pianist of the Greater Bay Area Jessica Xie (謝佩真), Daisy Miao (缪幸 伶) and Lanna Yao (堯瀾).
Sandra Ho-Suet Poon (潘澔雪) is Macau’s first Young Steinway Artist, she is also a Lecturer of Music at the Beijing Normal University – Hong Kong Baptist University United International College, World Piano Teachers Asssociation Macau President, Greater Bay Area Music & Art Association President, Macao Orchestra and Macao Chinese Orchestra guest keyboardist, Dr. Art Education Center Artistic Director, University of Cincinnati Master of Music degree holder. She is frequently invited as jury member in diferent competitions.
Ms. Poon have performed and gave seminars extensively in the States, Europe and Asia. She has appeared in festivals, concert series and halls such as Prague International Piano Institute, John Cage Centennial Festival, Dayton Art Institute Musicales Series, Asia-Pacific Symposium for Music Education Research, Hong Kong Musical Del Cuore Series, The Hong Kong Celeste Series, “Joe Hisaishi 360” series, Macao International Music Festival, Macao Arts Festival, Macau Vocal Festival, Macao Chamber Music Week, Shanghai Oriental Art Center, Guangzhou Opera House, Guangzhou Xinghai Concert Hall, Shenzhen Concert Hall, Shenzhen Guangming Culture & Art Center, Foshuan Grand Theatre, Zhuhai Huafa & CPAA Grand Theatre.
Ms. Poon received numerous awards and honors, including the Special Prize at the Kayabuki Ongakudo International Competition, First Prize in Brussels International Music Competition, First Place at the College-Conservatory of Music Competition, National Finalist at the Music Teachers National Association Competition, First Place at the Ohio Music Teachers Association Piano Competition, Irene Romanowski Piano Scholarship, Agnes Fowler Scholarship, Presidential Commendation for Excellence, Macao Cultural Afairs Bureau Prize, Macao Postgraduate Scholarship, Macao Foundation Sponsorship.
