PosterFBThe Rui Cunha Foundation presents today, TuesdayJuly 9th at 6:30pm, the Painting and Calligraphy Art Exhibition of Teachers and Students, entitled “2024 Flower and Color”, a collective presentation of works that have been carried out yearly, under the guidance of local teachers and artists Lee Chau Ping (李秋平), Hong Ka Yan (洪嘉欣) and Wong Ceoi Lam (黃翠霖), curated by Chan Lok Yee (陳洛宜), Chairlady of the Chinese Artists Exchange Association – Macau.

Co-organized by FRC and the aforementioned Chinese Artists Exchange Association – Macau (澳門華人藝術家交流協會), with the support of Macau Arts, Painting and Calligraphy Friendship Association (澳門書畫藝術聯誼會), the project includes 45 pieces of Chinese calligraphy and painting, as well as watercolors and oil and acrylic paintings, created by 38 students from adult and youth classes.

According to the organization, «this wonderful display platform allows them to share their creative achievements and hard-painted works with others. I also hope that senior calligraphy and painting artists can provide more valuable opinions so that teachers and students can strive for artistic excellence», says Lee Chau Ping, one of the mentors for this annual event. «It is hoped that students can communicate with each other, observe and learn, cultivate cultural literacy, express sentiments, enrich spiritual life, and promote traditional Chinese culture to achieve the purpose of passing the torch from generation to generation», such is the aim of this joint cross-generational exhibition.

Lee Chau Ping teaches painting and calligraphy courses, «because I want to pass on the techniques, knowledge and skills of the Lingnan School of Painting, that I know and have learned, thus giving back to society». He graduated from the Department of Three-Dimensional Design and worked for the Interior Design Department of the Hong Kong Government Institute of Design and Industry. He later progressed from the Royal Canadian University in Canada with an MBA, a PhD in Management from Princeton University in the United States, and a Doctor of Business Administration from Renmin University of China. He has been an interior designer for over 40 years and is licensed as a Chinese Medicinepractitioner. He founded the Macau Arts, Painting and Calligraphy Friendship Association in 2000, of which he is President.

The artworks will be on display until July 20th, 2024.
