Legal Networks – 2024.05.27

The bilingual weekly newspaper PLATAFORMA and the Rui Cunha Foundation will hold at FRC Gallery, from May 27th to the 30th at 6:30pm, a special series of Plataforma Talks that aim to acknowledge and celebrate the tenth anniversary of this publication.

With the motto of Networks for the Internationalization of Macau, a group of distinguished guests will address different experiences and perspectives, within each of their areas of specialization.

In this sense, the inaugural conference will be held today, Monday, May 27th, with the theme Legal Networks. As guest speakers we will have the participation of Frederico Rato, Founding Partner of LEKTOU, and Oriana Pun, Partner of PCC Lawyers.

To all distinguished speakers who very kindly accepted the invitation to share their experiences and reflections on the creation of networks for Macau’s international affirmation, we would very much like to thank and manifest our appreciation.

Moderating the four sessions will be the Directors of PLATAFORMA, Paulo Regoand Guilherme Rego.

Economic diversification, however successful it may be, will not dramatically alter the weight of gambling in Macau’s GDP. But it can – and should – significantly change the job profile, and the national and international territory’s relevance; as well as the demanding culture worthy of a modern, agile, competent, and global service society.

This is the DNA of PLATAFORMA, which since its first edition has defended bilingualism, the free movement of people, the mass culture of foreign – and continental –, the economic diversification, the flexibility in the attribution of Macau Resident Identity Cards…, as pillars of the Portuguese-speaking project and Macau’s international affirmation. At the same time a multicultural, multilingual, versatile, and competent service society must be promoted, capable of creating institutional and professional networks that link China and the Lusophony global market; East and West.

All sessions will have free admittance and will be held in English, except for the session held on May 28th, which will be held in Cantonese and Portuguese, with simultaneous interpretation.
