POSTER_jazzThe Rui Cunha Foundation presents today, Saturday, April 27th at 9:00pm, a special edition of Saturday Night Jazz that will bring to Macau the “Mark Leung Trio (Hong Kong) & MJPA” to celebrate FRC’s 12th Anniversary at the Gallery stage.

The dynamic guitarist and promoter from Hong Kong, Mark Leung, is back with a trio formation for this concert, where he will be joined by drummer Felix Leung and bass player Kiu Fung Lee. He was last here on March, 2023, performing with his regular band “Olá Jazz Guys”, for a long-time due Saturday Night Jazz reunion after the pandemic lockdown between the two SAR’s.

Mark Leung has founded the Olá School of Music to develop music performance and education in Hong Kong. He is also the founder and two-term chairman of Free Music Association (FMA), and a member of the Composers and Authors Society of Hong Kong (CASH). But mostly, Mark Leung is an old friend of the Macau Jazz Promotion Association, who has also studied with Master Zé Eduardo from Portugal.

The musicians from Macau Jazz Promotion Association will be performing on the second half. Led by guitarist Mars Lei, President of MJPA, they will be playing jazz classic standards with a little help from their Hong Kong colleagues.

The Macau Jazz Promotion Association (MJPA), co-organizer of the event since 2014, is formed by jazz lovers who regularly play, teach, and explore the many styles of this musical genre, within a scope of multiple projects aimed at youth and others.

Admission is free.
Don’t miss it!
