Exhibition “Poetry travels thousands of miles…” – 2021.04.07
The Rui Cunha Foundation presents next Wednesday, April 7 at 4:00pm, the Calligraphy and Poetry Exhibition for the 2nd Anniversary of the Association of Poetry Friends of Jardim da Flora, under the title “Poetry travels thousands of miles timelessly in our grand country”.
The exhibition brings together 43 art pieces of calligraphy, poetry and painting, made by renowned calligraphy masters from Macau, members of the Association of Poetry Friends of Jardim da Flora, co-organizer of the event.
According to the artists’ manifesto, this exhibition aims to be “a recollection of the accomplishments of all associate members over the last years”, where these arts come together, since “poems use painting and calligraphy as a carrier”.
«The characteristic of Chinese characters is that each character emits a sound, according to its interpretation, which creates the metric beauty of Chinese poetry. Metrical poetry has become more and more popular since the Tang Dynasty. It has not been changed for 1300 years, and it can be said to be invulnerable because of its beauty in architectural and phonological forms. Metrical poetry is unique and unparalleled in the world of broad poetry», claims also the Association.
The exhibition will be displayed until the 17th of April 2021.
Admittance is free.
