Architect José Maneiras (1935-2025)
The Rui Cunha Foundation remembers and celebrates the extraordinary life trajectory of Architect José Maneiras (1935-2025), a great reference in Architecture in Macau and an invaluable friend of FRC. It is with great sadness that we lose his companionship. We offer our deepest condolences to his family and friends.
On November 1, 2023, Architect and Professor Ana Vaz Milheiro presented, at FRC Gallery, an important lecture entitled “Building the 20th Century. José Maneiras: The Architect’s Vision”, organized by DOCOMOMO Macau.
The talk recalled the public life of Architect José Maneiras, who saw in architecture the possibility of shaping an increasingly egalitarian society, with access to better and fairer living conditions.
