POSTERThe Rui Cunha Foundation presents on Monday, February 24th at 6:30pm (10:30 GMT), a seminar regarding the theme “Cybersecurity: Legal Aspects and Business Protection”, co-organized by C&C Lawyers & Notaries and the insurance intermediaries Lockton, to discuss the growing IT risks facing companies nowadays and to promote their data security that constitutes a major capital asset.

The session will have as guest speakers: Nuno Sardinha da Mata, Senior Partner at C&C; Freddie Lai, Vice President of Lockton; Melody Qian, Senior Vice President of Lockton for Greater China; and Paulo Rowett, Legal Consultant at C&C.

According to the organizers, «the rise in cybersecurity incidents, including data breaches and cyberattacks, poses significant challenges for businesses of all sizes, particularly small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). To respond to these difficulties, C&C Lawyers and Lockton, one of the world’s leading insurance intermediaries, will join forces in a seminar» with the aim of offering «an opportunity for companies and entrepreneurs across industries to improve their understanding of cybersecurity risks and to explore solutions capable of strengthening their defenses».

Overall, cybersecurity is not just a technological concern, but also a strategic and legal issue that is essential for business sustainability, in which extensive financial and human resources are invested. The execution of internal security policies, employees’ training on good digital practices, and professional monitoring of networks to prevent intrusions or attacks, are increasingly urgent.

During the session, participants will learn about current cybersecurity threats and their legal implications, understand how legal frameworks can help companies address IT security challenges, and explore Lockton’s insurance solutions to effectively manage cyber risks.
