The Rui Cunha Foundation opened on March 19th the Digital Illustration Exhibition “Geometric Elements”, by Benson Lam, a local artist who has exhibited his work before at Galeria FRC, individually with “Divine Beasts” in 2020, and has participated in the collective exhibition of “FRC 10th Anniversary” in 2022. The Inaugural Ceremony will take place on March 26th at 6:30pm.

With this collection the artist showcases a set of 25 digital illustrations and 3-D paper modeling, which represent themes such as the city landscape, urban culture, intercultural remixing, mythical personality, religion, surrealism and pets.

«This is a series of geometrical elements’ inspired illustrations. The artworks are presented with different style of geometrical combination, either in high or low density triangular shapes», states the artist’s manifesto. «Geometrical patterns are used in some of the artworks giving a very colorful impression of the illustration works generated». Furthermore, one of the artworks is made with geometric paper sculpture, thus demonstrating that these compositions can be created in 3D form», a technique increasingly used in interior design and ornamental decorations, which is one of the artist’s specialties.

Benson Lam was born in Macau but worked overseas for a long time, from Hong Kong, Milan, Madrid, Barcelona, Lisbon, London, New York to Mainland China. As a photographer and a design professor, he is specialized in commercial space design & professional brand creations for shop window displaying.

The illustrations will be on display until April 13th, 2024.
