“Sounds of the New Generation”

The Rui Cunha Foundation presents today, Saturday, April 22nd at 9:00pm, the popular monthly Saturday Night Jazz concert, in this edition with “Sounds of the New Generation”, bringing together the Lazy Jones Quintet and the MAC Jazz Band, in the context of the 11th Anniversary of FRC Celebrations Program.

The Macau Jazz Promotion Association (MJPA), co-organizer of the event since 2014, chose for this Saturday’s concert the Lazy Jones, a young female quintet under the guidance of drummer Carmen Ip, that branched out from the Macao Youth Jazz Orchestra, one of the important learning projects of professional musicians from MJPA, many of which are teachers of this new generation.

The five young women created a promising group that shows great potential with the selection and interpretation of their repertoire, ranging from the classics of Bossa Nova to the Bebop style. The voice of Diana Piscarreta is joined by the guitar and bass of sisters Nana Chan and Twinkle Chan, the piano of Gale Tsuiand the drums of Emily Hong.

The stage will also be set up for the young musicians of MAC Jazz Band, a project led by bassist Johnny Yau, music teacher at the Macau Anglican College (MAC), bringing every year new faces and talent to the ensemble, to interpret favorite themes and great jazz standards.

Admission is free.
Don’t miss it!
