“Macau Jazz Week 2013”is coming on 30th Nov-8th Dec Macau Jazz Promotion Association’s annual activity “Macau Jazz Week 2013”, continuing the enthusiast feedback from last year, is having elite musicians from Italy, Taiwan, Australia, Thailand, Hong Kong and Macau.

There will be 10 events within the 9 days, including various concerts, talk, masterclass and clinic. Venues will be Rui Cunha Foundation, Oriente Foundation, Dom Pedro V Theatre, etc. All free admission.

MJPA’s aim on the Jazz Week is to introduce jazz cultural to Macau citizens and tourists, raising the local music standard and diversity of cultural development, moreover making Macau an Asian jazz city.

Contemporary Jazz Guitar Clinic

2 Dec (Mon) 6:30pm

Graduated from Royal Conservatory Brussels, Belgium, Ho-Pu masters the essence of European jazz, which is rare to Macau. So MJPA host is holding “Contemporary Jazz Guitar Clinic”, having the members of the trio to present the charisma of contemporary guitar, showing music lovers the secret within.

Jazz Talk by Clarence Chang

3th Dec (Wed) 6:30pm

Clarence Chang is renowned CD collector from Hong Kong, who is also the founder of Jazz World Music and Jazz Festival. Chang is the best friend of musicians and music lovers, he will be sharing his experience and thoughts as being an event and music producer.

Scott Dodd Quartet Concert

7th Dec (Sat) 3:00pm

MJPA also invites the members of the quartet to give a masterclass, aiming to provide local musicians and students learning opportunity, and raising the music standard of Macau. All members of the band are very experienced musicians, who will be showing their talent and help enhancing the knowledge of the attendants through interaction.
