Slideshow « Sailing Towards Dreams

The Rui Cunha Foundation presents today, Friday, May 15th at 6:30pm, the musical concert “Youthful Symphony: Sailing Towards Dreams”, a meeting of nine university students in Macau, who come together for the first time in this formation to offer the public a varied program for piano, voice, saxophone, guitar and cajon drums percussion.

The musicians are Leanne Lei (李芷茵) and Lin Zi Yuan (林子元) on piano and voice; Tiffany You (游昔芮) and Yolanda Chao (周筱盈) in vocal performance; Bosco Lam (林志達) on saxophone and piano; Stanley Chan (陳程) on piano; Leo Lei (李浩誠) and Nick Lok (陸洋) on guitar; and Pokka Ng (吳啟豪) on percussion. The master of ceremonies will be Karena Cheok (卓嘉玲).

The repertoire includes classical music, jazz standards, and Cantonese pop, notably classical pieces by Ludwig van Beethoven and Franz Liszt, 1950s jazz themes by composers Erroll Garner, Bart Howard, and Victor Young, and Cantonese pop and indie-pop-rock music from famous Hong Kong artists such as Kaho Hung, Panther Chan, Moon Tang, Mag Lam, and the all-boys band Pandora.

As defined by themselves, they are «a group of young musicians who met because of their dreams. On their musical journey, they support and encourageeach other, pouring their sweat and passion into the melodies. Gathering through music, making friends through concerts, we believe that dreams don’t need to wait for success to be heard».

And they announce the challenge. «This time, we want the world to hear our voices. The courage to pursue dreams is the impetus for this concert. We sincerely invite you to witness our musical story».
