The Rui Cunha Foundation presents on Saturday, April 11 at 5:00 pm, the “Carrey Lam Flute Students Recital”, inserted in the series of Nam Van Sound Waves musical concerts, co-organized by the Macau Vocal Association. The event is part of the 14th Anniversary Program of Rui Cunha Foundation, celebrated during the month of April with diverse activities.

The recital features eight flute students of professor Carrey Lam, from Beijing Normal University – Hong Kong Baptist University (BNBU), in Zhuhai, the Affiliate School of University of Macau, Pui Ching Middle School and Saint Paul School, in Macau.

The students – Tim Man (萬湉), Natália do Espirito Santo Lo (羅啟儀), Hei Tong Choi (徐曦曈), Sin U Cheong (張善茹), Jiayu Lin (林珈羽), Ningyue Zhang (張寧悅), Jinglin Feng (馮靖淋), Yitong Guo (郭怡彤), in order of presentation –, will be accompanied in some musical pieces by the piano of Ian Yi (葉欣), Zhizian Jiang (江芷嫻), and Giora Kong (孔暉珏).

The themes selected for this recital are “Circus Rag” by Cecilia McDowall; “Movement 1 from Republic Suite” by Joseph Hanson Kwabena Nketia (1921-2019); “Three Preludes for Solo Flute, Op. 18” by Robert Muczynski (1929-2010); “Twelve Fantasias for Flute Solo, No.12 in G minor” by Georg Philipp Telemann(1681-1767); “Flute Sonate in E minor, Op.2 No.1” by Jean-Marie Leclair (1697-1764); “Sonata for Solo Flute in A minor, Wq.132” by Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach (1714-1788); “Eight Parlour Studies for Flute Solo” byJohannès Donjon (1839-1912); and “Flute Concertino, Op.107” by Cécile Chaminade (1857-1944).

The Macau Vocal Association has always aimed to promoting the development of vocal music art in Macau, and achieving the mission of spreading it towards the young people and the local public. The series of recitals and concerts, held in partnership with educational institutions in the territory, intend to provide through music a balanced development of moral, intellectual, aesthetic, physical, and social well-being, for people of all ages in their free time.
