Macau at 100cm! – 2026.08.18
The Rui Cunha Foundation opened on Tuesday, August 18, at 15:00, the Child-Friendly Community Exploration Exhibition – [Macau at 100cm!]. The event is co-organised by the Child Protection Centre of the Against Child Abuse (Macau) Association and the Rui Cunha Foundation, with sponsorship from the Macau Social Welfare Bureau.
To raise awareness and understanding of the Convention on the Rights of the Child in Macau, the Child Protection Centre of the Against Child Abuse (Macau) Association launched the 9th “Wonder Kids” Child Development Services Award Programme. Centred on the theme “Building a Child-Friendly Community”, this year’s initiative advocates for putting children’s needs first. Guided by social workers, young participants observed the city from their eye level, a “one meter perspective”, evaluating community spatial planning and urban safety based on their actual needs. This programme explores and conceptualises an ideal, child-friendly environment.
The ceremony brought together government officials, organisational representatives, and parents to celebrate the fruits of the initiative. The exhibition presents the field research conducted by members of the “Wonder Kids” programme, encouraging society to view community development through a child’s eyes. Beyond showcasing creative ideas for public facility planning, the display highlights children’s insight into street and pedestrian safety, offering audiences a deeper understanding of their ideas for community enhancement while promoting their right to civic participation.
[Macau at 100cm!] – Child Friendly Community Exploration Exhibition will be on be on display until August 22nd, 2026.
