Poster-FBThe Rui Cunha Foundation presents on Saturday, February 19th, 2022, at 5:00pm, the Piano Soirée “Starlights of the Future” with teacher Ms. Yichuan Cao’s students, a total of 27 participants who will demonstrate the talent and add to their young artistic careers a new annual public performance experience.

The initiative will have the duration of an hour and a half, without a break, and shall include various themes ranging from classical, baroque and modern music. The students, aged between 4 and 15 years, will interpret pieces by composers such as Randall Faber, Félix Le Couppey, James Bastien, Edvard Grieg, Thomas Attwood, Johann Sebastian Bach, Franz Schubert, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Muzio Clementi, Friedrich Burgmüller, Georg Philipp Telemann, Helen Hopekirk, Francis Poulenc, among others, as well as important names in classical and traditional Chinese music.

According to the teacher, «I hope that, through this musical show format, the students can not only improve their interest and ability to perform on stage, during the piano learning process, but also develop the psychological component of interpretation and performance. This is also an opportunity for students and parents to communicate and get along with each other».

Yichuan Cao (曹藝川) is a pianist, Master of Music (Elementary Music Pedagogy) from the University of Music Franz List Weimar, Germany, where she studied under the guidance of professors Gerlinde Otto, Balázs Szokolay and Marianne Steffen-Wittek, and Bachelor of Arts in Piano Performance by the Sichuan Conservatory of Music, China, where she learned from Professor Xu Bing, Head of the Piano Department.

Her journey began at the age of 5, when she started to learn piano with professor Huang Zhensheng. Today she has great experience on stage, but also several years of teaching and pedagogy, having won numerous awards and distinctions as a trainer (“Distinguished Teacher”).

Admission is free, but subject to capacity limitations, according to the health recommendations implemented by local authorities.
