與詩相會 – 2026.03.17
The Rui Cunha Foundation presents a special session titled《與詩相會》, i.e. “A Poetry Gathering” on Tuesday, March 17th at 6:30pm, celebrating World Poetry Day. The event is co-organized by the Macau Bookworm’s Association (澳門書友研習會) and the Macau Authors Association (澳門作家協會).
The event, led by physician and writer Mr. Shee Vá, is an opportunity to invite the community to participate and share their favorite poems in a cultural afternoon that aims to honor poets, encourage reading, and support and preserve linguistic diversity through the written and spoken word.
World Poetry Day was established at the 30th UNESCO General Conference in 1999 and aims to promote the reading, writing, publication, and teaching of poetry worldwide.
In this sense, the Rui Cunha Foundation proposes two cultural activities to promote poetry. This first session, on March 17th, will take place in partnership with the Macau Authors’ Association, promising unpublished poems by its members, other classics, and some surprises such as Portuguese poet Fernando Pessoa celebrated in Chinese.
And a second session, on March 19th, held in Portuguese, dedicated to the proposed theme: “The tree and all you may want”, opening the door to anyone who will share their favorite poems and give voice to the feelings of poets.
The session will be held in Chinese.
