Going Green: Regional and Global Challenges – 2021.09.30
The Rui Cunha Foundation presents on Thursday, September 30th at 6:30pm, the webinar conference “Going Green: Regional and Global Challenges”, a new session from the FRC/MBtv Debates co-organized with the Macau Business magazine.
The event will be exclusively online, broadcasted on the FRC Facebook page or via Zoom Webinar registration link: https://zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_MnQk7jlOR7S9uAXarTR4_Q. If you wish to participate on the Q&A, please make sure you register in advance to attend the debate via Zoom.
A recent report from the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) sounded the alarm over the effects of human-induced climate change. Tackling these challenges is a shared responsibility. As China aims at key targets for peak emissions and carbon neutrality, Macau is brought into the picture in the context of the Greater Bay Area. With some of the world’s best practices being adopted in the Mainland, what can the city do to catch up and wholly embrace the concept of Ecological Civilization?
Under the Current Affairs Series, this debate brings together a panel of experts to discuss the way forward, with guest speakers Christine Loh, former Under Secretary of the Environment, Hong Kong SAR Government; Benson Lam, Chief Operating Officer of MECOM Power and Construction Limited; David Gonçalves, Dean, Institute of Science and Environment, University of Saint Joseph; and Annie Lao, environmentalist.
The debate will be moderated by José Carlos Matias, Director of Macau Business, and Nelson Moura, Editor-in-Chief of Macau News Agency. All speeches are to be delivered in English.
Note: Only the first 100 registrations will be able to attend the Zoom Webinar, but you can still follow the event on FRC Facebook streaming page.
