Teacher Lei Vai Fan’s Student Recital

 

A composer and pianist born and raised in Macau. Lei Vai Fan graduated from the Faculty of Music at the National Taiwan Normal University and later earned a Master of Arts in Music from Hong Kong Baptist University. She began her piano studies at a young age at the Academia de Música São Pio X under the supervision of Ms. Yeung Sau Kwan.

Lei’s musical compositions are deeply rooted in local culture. In 2014, she published her first book “Beside Still Waters”, sharing her creative journey and life reflection. She has released music albums including “Macau Sensation”, “Jing An Si Road No.192 6th Floor”, and “Here she dances”. Other notable works include “Inspirations – Evonne Lei’s Multimedia Piano Concert”, the film score for “Rua de Macao”, “Ode to the World” for the Macao Arts Festival, song compositions for the musical “My City”, and Dance theatre “Ready to Wear”. Additionally, she has composed numerous works for children, such as “Wonderful Love”, “The Ugly Duckling”, “Ode to Music” commissioned for the 45th Anniversary Concert of the Academia de Música São Pio X, picture book music “Monster of the Monsoon”, and musical “Wa Wa Rhapsody”, all of which received wide acclaim.

Dedicated to piano education for many years, she has mentored students and actively promoted Macau’s original music development by encouraging her composition students to hold showcase concerts. She currently served as a piano and composition teacher at the Academia de Música São Pio X and as an artistic advisor for the Macau Youth Symphony Orchestra Association.
