The Rui Cunha Foundation and MBtv Debates present on Wednesday, October 22nd at 6:30pm, a conference titled “Macau’s New Investment Funds Law: Prospects, Opportunities and Challenges”, inserted on the MBtv Finance Series at FRC Gallery.

«Macau’s first Investment Funds Law is around the corner, bringing fresh momentum to a nascent yet strategic industry. The reform aims to sharpen the city’s value proposition, diversify the economy, and mobilize under-tapped capital pools by modernizing the legal framework. What will it take to translate the law into market traction? Where are the opportunities across product design, management, distribution, and fund servicing?», the organizers enquire.

A «distinguished panel of policymakers, industry leaders, and legal experts will weigh in on the prospects, opportunities, and challenges ahead» of Macau’s financial status. The debate will feature guest speakers Amy Ho, Senior Bank Examiner (Monetary Authority of Macau); Bernardo Alves, Chairman & Chief Investment Officer (A&P Investment Fund Management Company Limited); Calvin Chui, Co-Managing Partner (Lektou) and President of the Board of Directors (Macau Financial Law Association); Gavin Kwok, Head of Prime Brokerage Sales (Maybank Investment Banking Group – Hong Kong); Rui Proença, Partner (MdME); and Nuno Sardinha da Mata, Senior Partner (C&C Lawyers).

The session will be moderated by the Director of Macau Business and Macau News Agency, José Carlos Matias.
