Security as a Comprehensive Concept
Conference Title: Security as a Comprehensive Concept
Conference Rational: Security is a dominant subject in State politics. Security must not be mistakenly taken by the so-called “petty politics”. Security is a serious issue that is often associated to national interest. Security is the landmark of key political options in every governmental term.
The conference structure departs from a conceptual base (How we understand security as a modern concept?) to arrive at different applications of that concept: a policy problem (The new European U Global Strategy on Foreign and Security Policy) and a legal framework of instruments (How the fight against terrorism is legally understood?).
Conference Objectives: The objectives established for this conference are threefold: Foremost, the organizers wish to enlarge the security perspectives, by broadening, deepening, extending and focusing the modern approach to security. Secondly, departing from this stand, the conference aims to debate the “New European Union Global Strategy on Foreign and Security Policy ” in order to challenge its fundamental options, in the light of the modern concept of security. Finally, it further envisages to put forward a legal perspective on how to fight against terrorism, through a deeper understanding of key legal international instruments.
