The Rui Cunha Foundation presents today, Wednesday, July 2nd at 6:30pm, the musical concert “Manuel Petti Solo Accordion”, conducted by the acclaimed and extraordinary Italian accordionist and composer, currently Musical Director of the Casadei Orchestra, the most famous, popular and long-running dance orchestra in Italy, founded in 1928.
The event will be a unique and unmissable opportunity to appreciate Italian music with Mediterranean roots echoing out of Manuel Petti’s Castelfidardo accordion. He has just concluded a recent musical tour of China with violinist Luca Ciarla, held from June 22nd to 30th, adding four more final solo performances, in Hong Kong, Macau, Zhuhai and Guangzhou, between July 1st and 4th.
In Macau, the concert will take place on the FRC Gallery stage, with free admission, organized by FOLKever Italian Music Roots in Motion and with the support of the Italian Cultural Institute of Hong Kong.
Manuel Petti began his accordion studies at the age of 6, under the guidance of Master Erminio Sallustio. In 1999, he completed the Accordion course and began studying Piano at the L. Perosi Conservatory in Campobasso, southern Italy. He attended numerous specialization courses, seminars and national masters. In 2017, he graduated with honors with a Bachelor’s degree in Accordion at the Conservatorio Martucci in Salerno. From 2006 to 2023, he joined the Orchestra Casadei covering the role of accordionist and keyboardist. From 2019, he also took on the role of Music Director and arranger of the Orchestra. From 2020 to 2023, he accepted the role of Musical Director, arranger, accordionist and keyboardist at Balamondo, an international festival of musical contamination and promotion of territorial traditions. In 2023, for the Orchestra Casadei, he wrote the arrangements for the Musicae and Loci project, by Max Gazzè.
With the Orchestra Casadei he had the opportunity to collaborate, as musical director, arranger, accordionist and keyboardist, with national and international artists, such as: Polo Belli, Irene Grandi, Simone Cristicchi, Eugenio Finardi, Eugenio Bennato, Kid Creole, Francesco Baccini, Fiordaliso, Gipsy King, Paolo Fresu, Richard Galliano, Marc Ribot, Roy Paci, Goran Bregovic, Zibba, Canzoniere Grecanico Salentino, Ron, Frankie hi-nrg mc, Daniele Di Bonaventura, Gianluigi Trovesi, Adalberto e Andrea Ferrari, Alberto Casadei, Ernesttico, Fabrizio Bosso, Hevia, Modena City Ramblers, Max Gazzè, Bandabardò, Tullio De Piscopo, Emir Kosturica, Toquiño, Africa Unite, Fabio Rovazzi, Francesco Cafiso, Ivana Spagna, Volossi. He is a regular participant on various RAI, Mediaset and local TV programs. He has performed in the United States, Canada, Germany, Switzerland, Luxembourg, Croatia and England.
