The Rui Cunha Foundation and MBtv Debates present on Monday, April 28th at 6:00pm, a conference entitled “Higher Stakes: Macau’s Gaming Industry amid Rising Regional Competition”, inserted on the MBtv Gaming Series at FRC Gallery.

«Macau remains the king of gaming, but the regional landscape is shifting. Following a two-year post-pandemic rebound, gross gaming revenue has plateaued in 2025», the organizers state.

This roundtable aims to examine the key forces shaping the industry, «from China’s economic outlookand geopolitical tensions to intensifying regional competition. With new players like Japan, Thailand and the UAE entering the scene, and established rivals such as Singapore and the Philippines gaining ground, what lies ahead?», they question. «Industry experts will weigh in on how Macau can stay competitive, embrace innovation, and secure its place in Asia’s evolving gaming future».

The inaugural edition of FRC / MBtv Debates in 2025 will feature a distinguished panel of experts to answer these questions and advise on current challenges. Guest speakers are Ben Lee, Managing Partner of IGamix; Niall Murray, Chairman of Murray International (Macau) Co. Ltd.; Rosalind Wade, CEO of Winna Mech (via Zoom from Thailand); and José I. Duarte, Economist and Macau Business Magazine Senior Analyst.

The session will be moderated by the Director of Macau Business and Macau News Agency, José Carlos Matias.

This conference will be held in English and broadcast live on both FRC and MBtv Facebook pages.
