Bel Canto is perhaps the ultimate expression the human voice is capable of. It means “beautiful singing” in Italian, a term coined sometime in the 18th century. This Italian vocal technique emphasizes on beauty of sound and brilliancy of performance rather than dramatic expression or romantic emotion and it’s still taught today.
Rui Cunha Foundation is therefore proud of having a Saturday every month dedicated to this art. As the event is opened to the public, visitors will be able to listen to a performance by local singers who are dedicated to seeing it flourish.
