In the first part of the lecture, after introducing the modernization of the Japan from the Meiji Restoration and the brief history of the Modern Movement Architecture in Japan, the list of Docomomo Japan will be presented, followed by the showcase of the conservation policies that begin as a reaction of the many destruction of the important architecture of the modern movement in Japan. Lastly, the recent Docomomo International’s policy shift will be introduced, as well as mASEANa’s activities and the contents of the Docomomo 2020 to be held in Tokyo.
