Macau Vocal Association is hosting the very first Macau Vocal Festival from 12th Dec to 17th Dec. There will be various events hosted by international vocalists and local singers, including the annual event “Opera Excerpt Concert 2013”, “Brian Montgomery Vocal Recital and Masterclass” and “Vino Voce – Soprano Vocal Concert”. Macau Vocal Festival’s aim is to help developing the music and cultural scene of Macau, while enhancing the activities between local singers and artist’s abroad.

MASTER CLASS with Brian Montgomery (Baritone) and Peter Lally (Piano)

Macau Association Proudly debuts “Macau Vocal Festival”, and is honored to have internationally renowned artist to open the curtain. American Baritone Brian Montgomery has performed to critical acclaim with opera companies throughout the world, in opera houses like Metropolitan Opera, Arena di Verona, Bavarian State Opera, Hamburg State Opera etc. He has been joining over 80 professional opera productions, and extracting his career to Asia. Montgomery had been Head of Vocal Studies of Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts. He has also concertized a great deal the past few years with the HK Philharmonic, HK Sinfonietta, Bach Choir, Oratorio Society.

Montgomery is to give a vocal masterclass at Rui Cunha Foundation Art Gallery, instructing local vocalists, demonstrating the style and technique for different vocal works. He will be also giving a solo recital at Mirror Hall of Dom Pedro V Theatre, singing various art songs in German and French, with various American vocal works.

VINO VOCE with Colette Lam (Soprano)

The curtain of the very first Macau Vocal Festival will be closed by a special event of music and wine tasting. Colette Lam, Coloratura Soprano from Hong Kong, graduates from Royal Academy of Music in Britain and is active around Europe and Asia. Lam has been participating in many professional opera production and play important roles. For this very event she is to perform vocal works according to 3 kinds of wine, merging music with the delightful aroma.
